Since HDI’s founding, the company has acquired other healthcare– focused entities to continue building upon their strong foundation. In 1997, HDI purchased Health Information Designs, Inc. and moved the company to Auburn, Ala. where it was fully integrated into HDI’s operations. With Health Information Designs, Inc.’s respected reputation throughout the industry, HDI maintained the company name and gained their years of experience working with additional state programs on a larger scale.  

The 2013 acquisition of Philadelphia-based Sanovia Corporation further strengthened HDI’s healthcare arm of operations and provided further experience and expertise in prior authorization services to help HDI better serve healthcare clients. 

HDI’s historical healthcare analytics expertise can be categorized in the following areas: Prescription Drug Prior Authorization, Prescription Drug Monitoring Programs and Retrospective Drug Utilization Review.   

Prior authorization (PA) software uses clinical algorithms and proprietary software to reduce and manage pharmacy costs. This software maximizes clinical value by integrating eligibility verification, criteria review, letter generation, quality controls and appeals review components into a single system. The automated decisions logic allows users to leverage all available information and make consistent, evidence-based determinations.
