About HDI Solutions
HDI Solutions, LLC (HDI) was founded in August 1981 by Dr. J. Tyrone (Ty) Gibson as the Drug Data Co. At that time, the primary focus was on the analysis of drug utilization data. After the company’s inception, the focus quickly shifted from the drug industry to the entire healthcare industry. In 1990, the company was changed from a proprietorship to a corporation when it was legally incorporated in the State of Alabama as Health Data, Inc. In 2004, the company name was changed to HDI Solutions, Inc. to fully reflect the company’s scope of software development, records administration, data management and document management services to state agencies. From its inception, the company has focused on turning data into meaningful information – a task that involves data capture and its analysis and presentation to the client in a usable format.
In 1997, HDI purchased Health Information Designs, Inc. and moved the company to Auburn, Alabama where it was fully-integrated into HDI’s operations. The Health Information Designs name was maintained rather than converted to HDI because of its name recognition within the Medicaid industry. In 2012, HDI and HID reorganized into limited liability corporations and moved from a parent-subsidiary relationship to sister companies. The 2013 acquisition of Philadelphia-based Sanovia Corporation further strengthened the healthcare arm of operations.
Although founded as a family-owned business, HDI has grown into a successful government software development, records administration, data processing and data management company for a diverse and dynamic group of government agencies. One of the key ingredients to HDI’s growth over the years has been our commitment to solid values of integrity, ethics and a genuine care and concern for the needs of our employees and clients alike. HDI has earned an excellent performance reputation for providing quality services to state agencies across the country.
